Lots of Americans found out just what a great speaker Michelle Obama is. 
She brought the crowd to its feet when she praised Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden and spoke of her love of her country:

I saw tears in a few eyes as she spoke of her parents, brother, husband and daughters with pride and warmth.
That is the thread that connects our hearts. That is the thread that runs through my journey and Barack's journey and so many other improbable journeys that have brought us here tonight, where the current of history meets this new tide of hope.
That is why I love this country.
